The Spirit Dragon

I opened my scaled,

bright green eyes.

I slowly picked up my

heavy body, after a

long night's rest.

My feet stretched out

as they embraced the cool

stone ground underneath them.

I then opened up my wings as if

I were a caterpillar coming out of

metamorphosis.

My scales scream in a vibrant

color of blue. The tips of my wings

are highlighted with auburn. I have

diamond, pure green eyes.

My creator made me strategically.

I am quite eligant and beautiful, but

I contain great strength. A strength

modified by my Maker's pure spirit.

The enemy dare not challenge me.

My purpose is unique. It is one

not seen by any. I do not receive the

applause of men or spirit.

I slowly thudded one foot

in front of the other, I approached

the entrance of my cave. As I studied

the sunrise, I felt the call. I knew I

had another task to complete.

I leapt off the cliff, free falling.

It felt as if I was on one of the world's

largest roller coasters. The powerful

wind humbled me as I remembered

who was stronger.

My eyes squinted from the wind brushing

against my long, aero dynamic nose. My heart

practically pounded out of my chest as I got

closer and closer to the ground.

Right before I hit the ground,

I dramatically opened my wings.

My wings cut through the wind

like a knife going through soft butter.

I soared into the open sky. I felt the

tingling grow. I know wherever I was

going, my help was greatly needed.

I approached a small white house

on a hill. Surrounding this home were

acres of land, livestock and gardens.

I gently landed on the roof. Creeping

to the edge, I outstretched my neck

to the nearest window. Through the

window, I saw a little girl sleeping.

Yet, she was quite restless. There

were fresh tears on her face and

she was moaning.

I felt a tensed presence. I was at the right

place. I began to search for the spirit

that was troubling her. As I scanned the

premises of the home, my eye caught

movement. A black tail had vanished

around the corner of the home.

My claws gripped the home,

and I urgently crawled down the

wall. Within seconds, I came face

to face with my mission.

It was another dragon, like

myself. Unlike me, he was not a

protector but the opposite. He was

one of the dragons of deception.

Our Masters have quite different intentions.

He starred into my eyes, challenging me.

I was ready because this was my purpose

of life. It was to defeat spirits like himself.

As I looked into his yellow eyes, all I saw

was darkness and harm. It disgusted me.

Dragons like him prey on the young

and strong ones. He does not waste time

on those who are already on his side.

I knew this fight would not be an

easy one, but I never doubted my

Master. I know He would not give me

an assignment I could not handle.

It was like his body was dipped in black

paint. He had several scars and scratches.

He had long talons and wings that were torn and

eroding. His teeth were large and white.

His eyes were yellow and unloving.

I quickly lunged for his throat, but missed.

He swung around his tail and struck me in

the head. I then saw him spread his wings.

Right before he took off, I used all my might

and reached for his chest with my right foot.

My claws ripped into his chest

and he released a horrid loud

shriek scream.

He was not screaming out necessarily

due to the pain of my claws, but seeing

and sensing my Holy master.

Dragons like him, tremble at

the name of whom I serve.

Within seconds, this beast lay to rest.

His body soon evaporated into thin air.

Ignoring my wound, I limped, making

my way to check on the little girl. She

was not moving restlessly anymore. I

peaked into her bedroom and she was

sleeping like a rock. She now looked

peaceful. It was assuring to me, knowing

she was now safe.

Unfortunately, due to the sinful

human nature, when free will was

broken, it was as if, every good thing

had a bad side. Dreams for example.

Dreams were made to be beautiful,

peaceful and a channel to God. Yet,

after the fall, nightmares came.

However, this protects the

humans from knowing what is really

happening. That is, a constant battle

for their soul.

The maker compelled

humans to believe they are just nightmare's.

This protects them from fear. If humans saw the

spiritual realm, they would not

be able to handle it.

I looked up into the early morning sky, I

felt a peace of mind and heart, knowing

I successfully completed the task. I smiled,

spread out my wings and headed home.
