The Valiant

Have you ever watched a movie and later wish

you were the actor?

Do you wish you were that popular girl in school, that had everything handed to you? Do you wish you were the one getting married? Or do you wish you were the one being dramatically rescued from the bad guys?

I have found myself in that position a thousand times. I easily compare myself to those actors. Wishing I was them. Especially the actresses that are not afraid of anything.

However, this is inaccurate thinking. Remind yourself to keep it in perspective. They are 'acting'. They have been paid to read from scripts and know what will come. Furthermore, they are not in the real world.

It can also be easy to look them up on social media. Sometimes we can find ourself wishing we had

their 'easy' life. Other times, we might be disappointed after finding

out who they really are. It must also be considered they are their own

person too.

Yet, aren't we all the same? I mean, anyone can 'play' a part and pretend

to be someone were not. How do we correctly determine if someone is

really brave or not? What do we define as 'fearless'?

Do we determine how brave they are based off of appearance?

If they do CrossFit or swim with sharks? Or are they considered 'brave'

because they can easily throw back a 12 pack? Is there braveness measured

by their strong harsh words?

Have you ever asked yourself this question; "How did I grow up

fearing nothing; but then be fearful of everything?'

I think this is where the enemy can deceive us. Satan, can get in your mind

and make you doubt yourself. He can persuade you into changing yourself

in a very unhealth way. The truth is, to be tough, you don't have to be the loudest

or physically biggest person in the room. In fact, you can be the opposite. Sometimes

the 'bravest' person in the room is the most silent.

Bravery is not defined by your outward appearance. Nor is it defined by

your past decisions. It is how you handle the here and now. To be brave is

to lookout for others and the weak. To be brave is protect those you love.

Above all, they encourage and use wisdom and discernment.

This Week's Challenge:

What lies do Satan constantly whisper in your ear? What can you do

to not allow him to win?
