She was captivated by his
deep, dark, brown eyes,
following his slender build.
They did everything together.
It was as if nobody else existed
in the world, but the two of them.
She was convinced he was the one.
He met every characteristic she
was looking for.

Overtime things began to change.
At once she had felt flattery
as he looked into her eyes, but
now she felt everything but that.
Rather, she felt an intense, dark
and a uneasy feeling foreign to her.
He had told her secrets in
the past about himself.
But knowing her of course
she was not the kind to flee.
She remained loyal and chose
to ignore the bad and only
give attention to the good.
Her blurred vision began to
finally settle into focus.
She realized she should have
acknowledged the red flags
rather than ignore them.
She did not know who to tell
or what to do.
She began to seek help.
Not everyone believed her,
but those who did, encouraged
her to stop all communication.
This did not ease her spirit.
She knew everyone, but her,
was clueless regarding this
individuals dangerous and
aggressive past. The bare thought
of leaving him seemed impossible.
This left her feeling trapped.
Overtime, rules were put
in place. Just as she began
to feel safe, these feelings
deteriorated when she saw
what was being done with her
given information. Rather than
it being brought to light, it
was crammed into filing cabinets.
It seemed to her, that all they
cared about was their Title.
This made her feel the same
way she did when she first
stepped into the quiet office.
Helpless, alone and fearing
for her life.
It took her a while not only
to heal emotionally and
feel safe again, but to trust
again. Nevertheless, give
another young man a chance.
Through prayer and time
she did move on, but still
suffered anytime she saw him,
or even heard his name. Instantly
she would be paralyzed with fear.
She felt as if she were in a rated R
film because everyone around
was clueless about the history
or emotional distress.
Even though this journey was
one of the most hardest things
I have ever been through, God has
taught me much. I realize now that no
matter what we go through, God is
always there and He is my
ultimate protector.
As a woman, we cherish
the feeling of not just
being loved, but also
being physically protected.
We love it when he glances
around while he opens the
car door for us.
We love it when
we feel his hand on our
back as a stranger walks by.
We love it when he sends
that text asking us if we
are back home safe.
Furthermore, we love feeling
his large warm hand and
fingers intertwine with our
small delicate ones.
We love these feelings
because it makes us feel safe.
Such desires were placed
in us by God. However, when
we place anything or anyone
above Him, it becomes a sin.
We can never count on
an individual to be our protector.
Especially as a woman, we cannot
place our security in our boyfriend or fiancé.
As Christians, we are
suppose to place our full
trust in God. Even with the
simple things such as feeling safe.
Considering the fact that we
are sinners and that we will
continue to disappoint and
be disappointed, wouldn't you
agree that it is wise to place trust in
someone who is always there as well as
who is all-knowing and all-powerful?
Thought for the day:
If you are in a relationship, or want to be in a relationship, ask yourself why you got into it, or why you want a relationship? Is it because you want to feel safe? To feel good about yourself? Or because you got tired of waiting and could not seem to find anyone else?
*If you are in a relationship for the right reason, or are searching for the right reason than good for you. Either way I challenge you to remember as a Christian, Christ is your first love. Most importantly, trust Him with every single aspect of your life!
