Trees have always intrigued me.
They are one of the most beautiful
things in nature. They stand tall and
proud. They face daily storms every
day, month, and year with incredible
strength. They are very much intact
with nature. Their roots are deeply
rooted within the dirt of the Earth.
In a way, trees remind me of humanity.
Humanity and trees both get battered
and worn down from life. Trees are
affected by numerous forms of weather.
Humans, face numerous storms too
referred to as trials and tragedy.
As life progresses, it takes a toll on all.
This is evidently seen in everyone but
some more than others. Much like
trees, we too have visible scars, breaks
and cracks. Trees endure hundreds of
storms every year and drastic climate changes.
This includes rain, snow, hail, lightening,
and wind etc. In some continents and
countries, trees endure volcanoes,
hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes.
Humanity suffers from a wide variety
of storms. These storms tend to be
more internal, mental and physical
rather than environmental. Similar to
trees, humans wear these storms and
trials that they have endured. We too
suffer from cracks, tares, and wares.
In extreme situations, tragedies can
make a human feel they cannot handle
it anymore. This leads to people giving
up or in worse case scenarios,
take their life.
Another similarity that trees and humans
share is durability. Some trees cannot
escape certain situations. At times, trees
catch fire or is overtaken by insects.
Furhtermore, hundreds of trees are
obliterated by man-made operations.
Well, there are humans that are
unable to avoid their storm, trial.
Humans get sick, diseases, old age,
car accidents, and freak accidents.
Not every tree and human can
withstand all storms.
Trees cannot avoid storms because not
only are they rooted into the ground,
but it is a part of life. Humans cannot avoid
tragedy or trials either. Unfortunately, it
is a result of the evil that freely roams.
I see trees through two different lenses.
One, I admire their strength and uniqueness.
I see their strength extended, reaching out
towards the vast, blue sky. I see their
uniqueness in their markings, limbs, and
distinct curves.
Second, I find trees the most captivating.
Especially during the winter seasons.
There is something intimate about having
the priviledge to witness the bareness
of a tree. To see what lies underneath
those colorful leaves.
You get a front row seat. You can see
the tree exposed for what it really is.
Sometimes, I wish I too could see
people for what they really are. Though
parts of the tree are dead in the winter
months, it is still very much alive. The
lack of leaves actually creates a majestic,
mysterious phenomenon.
I think we can learn a lot from trees.
trees too have their unique markings,
limbs and designs. Even our scars are
different but that is okay. Our differences
are for the better.
Let us, as humanity embrace our
differences. Let us look to the trees
as an example and proudly stand
tall, regardless of the storms we face.
Be confident and proud of who you are.
Seize your inner self and who God designed
you to be. Allow Him to give you strength.
Allow him and trials to mold you into the
special individual He intended you to be.
At the end of the day, we can face
trials like a tree. We can continue to
grow towards the sky, allow the situation
to mold us as we fight daily for survival.
Or we can it to strike us so hard we crack,
crumble and fall onto the Earth, unable
to get up.
Regardless of how you see trees, I see
them as one of the most beautiful parts
of nature. Allow trees to symbolize to
you, the endurance that you are capable
of. Take time to breathe in
the beauty of nature.
CHALLENGE:
I pray you find this encouraging. Be reminded that God never intentionally hurts anyone. Yes, life will not always be pretty but it is a part of life due to sin.
Admire the beauty around you and utilize the people in your life who love you.
You are not alone. :)
