Acknowledging the Invisible

Writer's picture: Simple thoughtsSimple thoughts

Mental illness, in my opinion is

one of the most hardest things

a human can go through.

First, because mental illness

can not be seen. It is not like

a broken bone. You cannot be

given a cast, stitches or surgery

to fix it.

Second, everyone's human

mind is so unique and different

in it's own ways. This is beautiful

but also can be a tragedy.

Third, the mind scars more

than physical scars. In fact,

physical scars can go away

as the years come. With mental

illness, it is an every day wear.

I think it is important to come

forward about mental illness. I think

it is good to create a balance comparing

help to using a crutch. I do not agree with

laziness or drama, but I believe in true help.

I also find both peace and beauty with

vulnerability.

By coming forward you are not only helping

yourself, but others as well.

It can be easy to dismiss, especially

if you have never personally experienced

mental illness. It is also easy to not believe

something you do not see.

However, just because

you cannot see it, does not mean

it is not real or valid. Let us acknowledge

the unseen and the invisible.

LESSON: As fallen humans, there is such thing as mental illness. I have witnessed friends go through mental illness. I also had a time when I was placed in danger due to someone's mental illness. This post is to encourage those to get help who need it. This post is also a reminder that God loves you and He is for you.
